Surface defects are the main factors affecting the appearance, sealing performance and service life of customized rubber products. Bubbles, short shots and cracks are the three most common quality problems in rubber molding production. These defects easily lead to product leakage, reduced pressure resistance and premature aging, causing equipment failure and economic losses for overseas buyers. Analyzing defect causes and standardized production control are key to ensuring stable and high-quality rubber accessories.
Bubbles are mostly caused by raw material moisture, incomplete exhaust and unreasonable vulcanization parameters. Excess moisture in rubber compounds and trapped air in the mold cannot be completely discharged during molding. Meanwhile, excessively fast vulcanization speed leads to internal gas retention, forming surface and internal bubbles. The effective solutions include raw material drying treatment, multi-stage mold exhaust design, and optimized temperature and time vulcanization process to ensure full gas discharge and compact product structure.
Short shots, also known as insufficient filling, refer to incomplete product molding and missing edges and corners. They are mainly caused by insufficient material feeding, low molding pressure and poor material fluidity. Too low temperature results in poor rubber fluidity, while unreasonable mold runner design hinders material filling. We solve this problem by adjusting material formula fluidity, optimizing mold gating system and stabilizing molding pressure, ensuring full filling of every product detail.
Cracks usually appear in product edges and stressed parts, divided into molding cracks and service cracks. Molding cracks stem from uneven mold release, excessive demolding force and improper vulcanization temperature. Service cracks are caused by material aging, poor tear resistance and long-term alternating stress. We adopt high-toughness rubber formulas, standardized demolding operation and precise vulcanization control, and strictly inspect finished products to eliminate defective goods.
We implement full-process quality control from raw material inspection, mold debugging, parameter setting to finished product inspection. Professional defect prevention technology effectively reduces surface defects, providing high-precision, high-stability rubber products for global industrial supporting and equipment maintenance.
