For these specical time , the silicone material price have increased too much , and may keep increasing , can’t come down the price in the short time . EPDM , NBR, SBR, NR rubber material is increasing price as well , but not increasing much than SI .

Some of the customer have creat the silicone rubber mold for the silicone product , but they don’t want to spend too much for the silicone product and wondering if the tooling can be used for EPDM or other rubber parts ?

Let me tell you the answer, normally EPDM and silicone part can’t use the same tooling , since the shrinkage are different , pls refer the shrinkage bellow:

From the chart above , you can see that FKM and silicone material shrinkage is bigger than other rubber material , normally the silicone shrinkage is 1%-1.5% more than rubber material , if you can accept the size tolorance , then you can try use the silicone tooling to make the EPDM rubber , NR, SBR , NBR rubber part sample to check if the size avaliable for you.
